New Ways to Enjoy Williamsburg in 2019

Happy New Year! It’s finally 2019, and no matter what might have been thrown your way last year, it’s a new year and a new set of opportunities. In addition, there are a lot of exciting ways to enjoy Williamsburg this year, whether through old traditions or new developments. Here are some of our must-see events for Williamsburg in 2019!

If you haven’t ever had the chance to hear the amazing Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra live, you’re missing out! Look through their program of 5 Masterworks concerts throughout the year, or join on January 26 at their Cabaret and Cocktails concert for a fun night out. Maybe you’re more the movie buff? Check out the William and Mary Ampersand Film Festival January 31-February 3. Complete with workshops and interviews, it’s a great way to get a dose of culture and art.

Those who have visited the Williamsburg Winery know that it is quite a local fixture…and rightly so! In addition to year-round events, there are two new tours joining the lineup of vineyard adventures this year. And since everyone knows nothing pairs better with wine than good music, the Virginia Arts Festival is offering their Coffee Concerts on-site throughout the year!

For those, a bit more athletic, now is the time to sign up for the 2019 IRONMAN Triathlon on May 5. There’s no better scenery for training or racing than beautiful Colonial Williamsburg! What’s more, we’re getting new neighbors! Two new tenants are joining Midtown Row (frozen custard anyone).

Finally, as we look forward to summertime, there are now two new reasons to vacation in Willaismburg: Busch Gardens and Water Country USA are each adding a new attraction!

There’s so much to look forward to this year, and Williamsburg is no exception. Whether you live locally or are planning a relaxing getaway, a stay at the Fife and Drum is the best way to be in the know on all the local happenings. May this year be your brightest year yet!
